GENERAL PROCEDURES

 

 

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

The tour is open to all amateur, non-amateur and professional golfers.

 

All competitors must hold a Golf Quebec / Golf Canada membership card in addition to the CGC Tour membership.

 

Special conditions

 

The maximum handicap for all Tour events will be set at 15. A player with a higher index may participate in the Tour events.

 

Professionals

 

Professionals who have not participated in any professional competition in 2020 and 2021 will be accepted.

 

If a professional has only played in PGA of Quebec sanctioned tournaments, he/she will be eligible to play in CGC Tour events.

 

REGISTRATION

 

To register to one of the events of the circuit, the player must first subscribe to it by visiting our website: www.cgctour.ca

 

He will then be able to register for the different events of the 2023 season by connecting to our Golf Genius platform and paying the entry fee for the event, if applicable.

 

Registration for the different events always closes 13 days before the event, at 9:00 pm, unless otherwise specified.

COST AND PAYMENT

 

Admission to the event is included in the cost of the CGC Tour - Elite membership for the regional tours.

 

For the CGC Tour - Regular member, the entry fee varies between $140 and $185 taxes included depending on the event.

 

CGC Tour - Elite members of another regional circuit will be entitled to a preferential rate for the entry fee.

 

The exact price of each event is posted on the event's home page, in the description under the logo and on our website.

 

It is possible to pay the cost of the event by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) via our online Golf Genius platform.

 

Cheques and Interac transfers are also accepted. Please contact us at info@cgctour.ca to make the payment.

 

 

ENTRY

 

The maximum number of entries per event is 54 players.

 

CGC Tour - Elite members of the regional tour hosting the event will always have priority over Regular members and Elite members of another regional tour, until 45 days after the opening of registration.

 

The first come, first served basis will apply for the remaining spots for CGC Tour - Regular members and Elite members of another tour.

 

In the event that more than 54 players are registered for an event. The CGC Tour Management will make every effort to allow players who exceed the limit to participate in the event.

 

The final decision will be made based on discussions and responses with the host club.

 

 

CANCELLATION AND REFUND

 

CGC Tour Member - Elite: No Refunds. Contact us for more details or in the event of a special situation. It will be possible to participate in an event of another tour in replacement, under certain conditions.

 

CGC Tour Member - Regular: Full refund up to 14 days before the event

 

 

PLAYING TIME POLICY

 

The group time management policy will be in effect. In each tournament, each group must complete the first nine holes in less than 2 hours and 10 minutes (group of 3 players) or 2 hours and 20 minutes (group of 4 players) or in less than 15 minutes later than the previous group. The time allowed for the 18 holes is 4 hours 20 minutes (group of 3 players) or 4 hours 40 minutes (group of 4 players)

 

In the case of a failure, the group will be given a warning and if the same group arrives late at hole # 18, each player will add a penalty stroke to his score.

If during the season, a player has been in a group more than 3 times, the penalty of one stroke will be applied to the player as soon as he/she is in a group a fourth time.

 

At any time during the round, a player may be timed and only one player in the group may be penalized if there is evidence that the slow play is caused by one individual. The time reference is 40 seconds per shot (50 seconds for the first player to play)

 

 

EVENT FORMAT

 

For all CGC Tour events, players play simultaneously in two divisions.

 

GML Division: Gross Score Formula.

 

CGC Division: Net scoring formula, with handicap.

 

The handicap index of all players will be determined 48 hours prior to the event according to the Golf Canada index and the CGC Tour index. See our website: www.cgctour.ca, under the Concept and Rules tab, for all the details concerning the formula used to calculate the CGC Tour Index.

 

All CGC Tour competitions will be governed by the current Rules of Golf approved by Golf Canada and the local CGC Tour Rules of Golf prepared by the Chief Referee and Tour Director. These are available under the 'Information' tab on the event pages under our Golf Genius platform.

 

The CGC Tour's designated tee time attendant at each event may provide additional instructions on the day of the event.

 

 

MOTORIZED CART

 

When a player is using a power cart, the player must not drive the cart past the ball position.

 

In the case of a first offense, the player will be given a warning. Any additional offense will be subject to a 2-stroke penalty each time.

 

 

CGC TOUR EVENTS COMMITTEE

 

All decisions made by the CGC Tour Events Committee will be final.

 

The committee members will be introduced to all tour members on May 15, 2023.

 

The Tournament Director and the Head Referee will be officially part of the committee.

 

There will be one Golf Canada licensed referee per 45 registered players with a maximum of 2 referees per event. These referees will be able to assist when needed, analyze the playing time and give penalty strokes for different infractions, if necessary.

 

These decisions will then be reviewed and analyzed by the event committee.

 

 

ARRIVALS AT EVENTS

 

The registration of a player at the events is only required at the first event of this one on the CGC Tour, in order to have the different legal documents signed and for the official picture of the member.

 

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

 

The CGC Tour asks its members to behave in a professional manner on and off the field.

 

Club swinging, abusive language towards another player, a member of the CGC Tour team or the host tour, spectators, and destruction of the course or property of the host golf club will not be tolerated.

 

The CGC Tour Committee will issue a formal written warning to the player for a first offense.

 

A second offense will result in a written warning and a $200 fine that must be paid by the player before he/she can participate in another Tour event.

 

A third offense will result in a $500 fine and a 2 event suspension for the member. The fine must be paid by the member.

 

A fourth offense will result in immediate expulsion from the CGC Tour for the member.

 

 

DRESS CODE

 

All players and caddies must adhere to the CGC Tour dress code.

 

Men :

Golf polo with collar or channeled collar at all times.

Golf pants or shorts at all times. Shorts must not go below the top of the knee.

 

Women:

Golf shirts with or without sleeves

Golf dresses with or without sleeves. The lower part of the stomach cannot be visible.

Pants, skorts, golf shorts at all times.

 

Golf shoes may not have metal spikes.

 

The caddy may wear walking or running shoes without problem.

 

 

WEATHER POLICY

 

The game will be suspended and delayed when lightning or thunder appears. The announcement will be made with two long blasts of the siren during the event.

 

The decision to cancel an event will be made by the CGC Tour Event Committee based on discussions between the CGC Tour Event Committee and the host club.

 

In the event that all players have completed 9 holes in an event that is cancelled due to weather by the committee, the 1st 9 holes will be considered official and will establish the final standings for the event.

 

 In the event that players have not completed 9 holes in an event that is cancelled due to weather, all scores for the day will be deleted and the event will be rescheduled, if possible.

 

 

SPECTATORS

 

The CGC Tour does not preclude spectators from attending the various tour events.

 

However, the CGC Tour is not responsible for any club that refuses access to the site.

 

It is the responsibility of those who would like to attend an event to contact the various clubs that are partners of the circuit to ensure that access to the site will be allowed.

 

 

GPS AND RANGEFINDERS

 

All GPS devices and rangefinders are allowed on the circuit.
